Since joining the Environmental Services team at the Fraser Valley Regional District in 2017, Micha Gutmanis has been dedicating her expertise to advancing exciting air quality initiatives throughout the region. She has built an air quality education program for local schools, she coordinates wood smoke safety events, and actively promotes the use and expansion of zero emission vehicles. She has been influential in securing new charging stations to create an innovative “EV Alley” of chargers at the Fraser Valley Regional District for corporate and public use.
Micha is passionate about low-carbon transportation, renewable energy, and smart cities. Most recently, she has been leading a major solar panel installation project at the FVRD corporate office, as well as a cutting-edge electrification project for a local Sports and Recreation Complex.
In her spare time, Micha is an avid traveller, cyclist and soccer player. While pursuing her BSc in Natural Resources Conservation at the University of British Columbia, she ran competitively for the school’s cross-country and track team.
